Rules on character creation
Character classes
All character classes of the Player's Handbook are allowed. Other classes may be allowed on a case-by-case basis. Ask the DM for tips how to make your choice of a class an excellent one for the campaign.
Hitpoints
At first level, each character gets the maximum number of hit points according to the hit die of his choice of class. At later levels, do not roll the hit die but assume you have rolled the average (a 2.5 on a d4, a 3.5 on a d6, a 4.5 on a d8, a 5.5 on a d10 and a 6.5 on a d12). Round down at even and round up at odd levels.
Ability score generation
The standard point buy method for ability score generation is used. Every ability score starts at 8. You can then spend 28 points to increase your ability scores. The point costs to raise an ability score is summarised in the following table:

Alignment
For a better party coherence, a non-evil alignment is preferred.
Deities
It is recommended that each PC choses a patron deity. You can chose a fitting one amongst those presented in the Player's Handbook.
Local traits
As it is encouraged that player's make their characters local, PCs from the Cauldron region may choose one local traits during character creation. Each trait has some benefits but also drawbacks
Action Points
Each character starts with 5 action points.
Starting Gold
You gain the average amount of starting gold for your class, from which you can buy your equipment.
